A workshop with artist and writer Ghislaine Leung as part of the reading in Reading that focuses on transcription in its most material and lived sense. YOUR WORDS IN MY MOUTH.. is a long term project by Leung that works with collaborative, transcriptive exercises in speaking and writing to bring the voice back into text, and foreground new multiple forms of authorship. YOUR WORDS IN MY MOUTH.. is not about conceiving content as much as tuning into what is already present in the materials around you; your surroundings, how your body feels, your thoughts at that moment in time, the sounds you hear around you. This YOUR WORDS IN MY MOUTH.. workshop for reading in Reading will take place within the Local Studies section of Central Library and form the base structure that will generate a new publication for the collection and will be available in the library for loan.
The YOUR WORDS IN MY MOUTH.. workshop has taken place at Cell Project Space in March 2017, Künstlerhaus with Sandberg Institute, Stuttgart in April 2017, NTU, Nottingham in October 2017, Netwerk Aalst, Aalst in November 2017, Up Projects, London from October 2017 to March 2018. Artist and writer Ghislaine Leung, lives and works in London and Brussels. Recent solo projects include The Moves at Cell Project Space, London, 078746844 at WIELS, Brussels and group projects Hollis & Money at ICA, London. Her publication Partners launched in 2018.
